Audi entered India in the year 2007 and currently functions as Audi India under the umbrella of Volkswagen Group India. Audi India offers 16 car models in the Indian market. In the year 2024, the brand held around 31% share in the Indian luxury car market. Audi India assembles vehicles for the Indian market at a facility located in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra.
Brand Ambassador of Audi
Current brand ambassador of Audi India is the champion javelin thrower and Olympic gold medalist, Neeraj Chopra. Chopra won the gold medal in 2020 Tokyo Olympic, following it up with a silver medal in 2024 Paris Olympic. Audi India officially named Neeraj Chopra as its brand ambassador in May 2025. The head of Audi India, Balbir Singh Dhillon, stated that performance, precision and progressive mindset associated with Audi mirrors the qualities of Neeraj Chopra. Collaboration with star athlete Neeraj Chopra reflects the company’s brand strategy to align with achievers representing a resurgent India. Furthermore, the company also seeks to connect more with the younger audience and sports enthusiasts through Neeraj Chopra. The partnership is expected to involve digital storytelling, campaigns and events.
Prior to Neeraj Chopra, Audi India’s brand ambassador was the iconic cricketer, Virat Kohli. Kohli was picked as the brand ambassador of Audi in the year 2015 and he continued in this role till the year 2023. Even though his contract was expected to extend, the same did not materialise.
Bollywood actress Kiara Advani was Audi’s brand ambassador in the year 2021.
