Theatrical and OTT Release
Ambajipeta Marriage Band released across Indian theatres on 2nd February 2024. The film was lauded for its touching village-based story and brilliant performances. Post its theatrical release, the movie was acquired by Aha for digital streaming purposes. On 1st March 2024, it has been streaming on Aha Video.
Cast and Characters
The story mostly revolves around Malli, portrayed by Suhas, a barber working for the local marriage band in the Ambajipeta village. And as for the other main role in the movie, well, Sharanya Pradeep plays his twin sister Padma, and Shivani Nagaram is Malli’s childhood love Lakshmi.
Major other roles include Goparaju Ramana as the band head, and Jagadeesh Prathap Bandari as Malli’s close friend. Nithin Prasanna portrays Venkata Babu, whose relationship with Padma becomes the central conflict in the story.

Storyline
Set in a village called Ambajipeta in Andhra Pradesh, the film follows the lives of twin siblings Malli and Padma. Malli works in a marriage band and aspires to wed Lakshmi, his childhood crush. Now her life turns complicated with rumours about her and Lakshmi’s brother, Venkata Babu. With caste issues and social pressure creeping into their lives, the sister and brother get caught up in difficult situations, trying to maintain the dignity and values of their family.

The Ambajipeta Marriage Band was made on a very low budget of ₹5 crore. It went on to perform well at the box office, grossing some ₹9.6 crores. This was followed by a streaming rights deal with Aha, which kinda was another success for the film itself because now more people are going to witness the work of first-time director Dushyanth Katikaneni.
