Theatrical and OTT Release
Ayalaan got released on January 12, 2024, during the time of Pongal celebrations. In all theatres across India, the Tamil version was well received. Then, on January 26, 2024, the Telugu-dubbed version saw its release on the big screens. Post the theatrical time, the movie Ayalaan began streaming on Sun NXT from February 9, 2024. Cast and Characters
Sivakarthikeyan assumes the lead role of Thamizh, a young man who meets an alien whom he names Tattoo. Rakul Preet Singh plays the female lead. Sharad Kelkar is Aryan, a kinda interesting scientist. Siddharth lends his voice to Tattoo the alien. Isha Koppikar appears as Eliza, a mysterious character, and then, you’ll see Karunakaran and Yogi Babu make a cameo for some comedy. David Broughton-Davies plays an American Ufologist. Bhanupriya and Bala Saravanan also constitute the main cast.

Storyline
An ordinary person named Thamizh makes friends with Tattoo, a small alien that has been stranded on Earth. Meanwhile, Aryan, a scientist, is working on a dangerous Nova gas. So, Thamizh and Tattoo together go stop him. The movie showcases their friendship and the responsibility that they take on to save the world, which sounds a bit cliche but trust us, the overall portrayal of the story is kinda super interesting and fun to watch. No two ways about that.

It was a huge-budget film, where nearly ₹100 crore was poured into mainly VFX, mocap, and sets. There were more than 4,500 VFx shots involved. Box office-wise, the movie grossed ₹83.7 crore worldwide. While the movie never recovered its full expenditure, it did hold up well in overall terms.
