PepsiCo Inc. is an American multinational company formed in the year 1965 by the merger of Pepsi Cola Company and Frito-Lay Inc. It is headquartered in Harrison, New York, United States. The company operates in food, snack and beverage industry, with a portfolio comprising of 23 brands. Some of the prominent brands owned by PepsiCo include Pepsi-Cola, Mountain Dew, Gatorade, Tropicana, Lay’s, Cheetos, Quaker Oats and Lipton. PepsiCo is present in more than 200 countries.
PepsiCo has been operating in India since the year 1989, and is currently among the largest food and beverage brands in India. The company has 63 manufacturing facilities in India, including 36 bottling plants. Bottling plants of PepsiCo in India are managed by Varun Beverages. PepsiCo’s beverage portfolio in India includes Pepsi, 7UP, Tropicana, Slice, Gatorade and Mountain Dew, while snack portfolio includes Kurkure, Uncle Chips, Lay’s, Quaker Oats and Doritos.
Brand Ambassador of Pepsi
Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh was appointed as the brand ambassador of the company’s flagship beverage brand, Pepsi, in February 2023. Ranveer Singh is the face of Pepsi’s ‘Rise Up Baby’ campaign to connect with the young consumers. Kannada actor Yash is also the brand ambassador of Pepsi since January 2023. Bollywood star Salman Khan is yet another brand ambassador of Pepsi. He was roped in by the company in the year 2019, and is well known for his ‘Har Ghoont Mein Swag’ campaign for Pepsi.
Actress Katrina Kaif is serving as the brand ambassador of PepsiCo’s mango drink brand, Slice, since March 2008. Sprinter Hima Das, shuttler PV Sindhu and javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra are the brand ambassadors of PepsiCo’s sports drink brand, Gatorade.
Actress Sara Ali Khan was appointed as the brand ambassador of PepsiCo in March 2023. She promotes the company’s local snack brand, Kurkure. Actor Kartik Aaryan is the first ever Indian brand ambassador of PepsiCo’s nacho chips brand, Doritos.
