Vivo is a Chinese multinational technology company founded in the year 2009. It is a subsidiary of BBK Electronics along with other brands like Oppo, Realme and OnePlus. Vivo specialises in smartphones, smartphone accessories, software and online services. The company operates in more than 60 countries and has a user base of over 400 million. Vivo also has ten research and development centres located in China, Japan and United States.
Vivo entered India in the year 2014 and currently holds around 17% share in the Indian smartphone market. The company offers a wide range of smartphones to the Indian consumers in premium, budget and mid-range segments. Vivo operates a manufacturing facility in Greater Noida, which has an annual production capacity of over 70 million units. The brand has a widespread network in India, comprising of over 70,000 retail stores and over 550 service centres across more than 530 cities. Vivo was the title sponsor of the mega cricketing event, Indian Premier League, from 2016 to 2019.
Brand Ambassador of Vivo
Emerging actress Suhana Khan was appointed as the brand of Vivo in November 2024. She was roped in to specifically promote Vivo Y Series of smartphones. Khan is expected to leverage the style and affordability of Y Series smartphones to connect the brand with the modern, young and trend-conscious customers in India.
Ace cricketer Virat Kohli has been serving as the brand ambassador of Vivo since April 2021. He endorses the brand’s smartphones, with a special focus on Vivo V Series. Kohli engages in 360-degree marketing for Vivo, such as television commercials, social media marketing and promotional events.
Bollywood actor Amir Khan became the brand ambassador of Vivo in March 2018. He became the face of Vivo V9 in India. Actress Sara Ali Khan was roped in by Vivo as its brand ambassador in the year 2021.
Actor Ranveer Singh was the brand ambassador of Vivo till March 2018 when he was replaced by Amir Khan.
