Theatrical and OTT Release
Keedaa Cola was theatrically released on 3rd November 2023. After the theatrical release, the movie was available for streaming on Aha from December 29, 2023. But Gold members of Aha were given priority and had early access the day before, which means you could watch it on 28th December 2023.
Cast and Characters
The story unfolds around young Vaasthu, portrayed by Chaitanya Rao Madadi. He stays with his grandfather Varadharaju, a role taken by none other than Brahmanandam (the most famous comedian actor in India right now). Vaasthu’s close friend Lancham, who’s also a lawyer, is played by Rag Mayur. Other noteworthy characters in the movie include Jeevan, who aspires to be a politician played by Jeevan Kumar, Sikander by Vishnu Oi, the CEO of the cola company by Ravindra Vijay, and Shots, the fixer, by Raghu Ram. And yes, Tharun Bhascker, the director himself, is also in the film as Naidu Anna.

Keedaa Cola is an original screenplay by Tharun Bhascker Dhaassyam, who also directed the film. Music for the film was composed by Vivek Sagar, cinematography was handled by AJ Aaron, and editing was done by Upendra Varma. The film was produced under the VG Sainma banner and distributed by Suresh Productions.
Storyline
The main character, Vaasthu, is actually suffering from Tourette syndrome. Selling medical simulators is how he earns his livelihood. One day, he discovers in the soft drink bottle, supposedly for his grandfather, an incredible cockroach. Lancham then thinks of lodging a consumer complaint and demanding compensation from them. They then get together with Jeevan, who is aiming to become a local politician. It starts out as a simple plan but soon after results in a slew of funny yet chaotic events with the cola company and their shady operators.
Production Budget and Financials
For this hilariously good film with good direction and storyline, well, the limited budget was approximately ₹6 crore. The makers sold the OTT streaming rights for ₹8 crore even before the film was released and thus recovered the costs in advance. At the worldwide box office, Keedaa Cola grossed ₹16 crore, which was very close to the break-even point.
