Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee Hospitalised with a Major Forehead Injury

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee suffered a forehead injury after falling at her residence in Kolkata on Thursday. This incident occurred shortly after her return from an event in South Kolkata’s Ballygunge.


Details of the Incident

According to a hospital official, Mamata Banerjee slipped and hit her head on furniture at home. The 69-year-old leader was subsequently taken to the State-run SSKM Hospital in Kolkata.

Statement from the Hospital Director

SSKM Hospital director Manimoy Bandopadhyay mentioned that Mamata Banerjee was brought to the hospital with injuries sustained in a fall after allegedly experiencing a push from behind. She suffered a cerebral concussion and had a sharp cut on her forehead and nose.

Treatment and Condition

Family members reported that she received four stitches and remains stable. Later in the evening, Mamata Banerjee was discharged from the hospital.

Response from Trinamool Congress

The Trinamool Congress shared photographs of the injured Chief Minister on social media, requesting prayers for her recovery. Party leaders, including Abhishek Banerjee, visited the hospital to enquire about her health.
